If you believe that you have been the victim of identity theft:

  • Contact one of our bank officials immediately at 434-352-7171
  • Contact the fraud departments of each of the three major credit bureaus:
    • Equifax           1-800-525-6285
    • Experian         1-888-397-3742
    • TransUnion    1-800-680-7289
  • File a police report with your local police agency and retain a copy of all documents.

Established by the Banking Act of 1933, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation exists to guarantee the safety of your money.  You can be confident that money deposited at Farmers Bank falls under this protection, backed by the credit of the United States government.
